Dry fogging is a relatively new technology that utilizes a fluid and air mixture to produce ultra fine droplet size. Dry fog produces microscopic droplets that collide with airborne particles and have very little surface tension. Dry fog systems control virtually all types of breathable and harmful dust particles, ranging from 1 to 800 microns in size.

In order to understand dry fog you need to first understand what a micron is. A micron is a derived unit of length equalling one millionth of a metre. In other words it is extremely small. For example the average human hair is 50 microns. When dry fog gets released into the air, it then evaporates and changes the moisture content of the air.
